Discover the beauty of California and its rich agriculture on this memorable excursion with your NAMA friends old and new.
The Western Pacific NAMA Chapter invites you to experience the wonderful weather, spectacular sights and laid-back vibes of San Diego and the surrounding region during a special Ag Tour. Float away for a day with fellow attendees and members of the chapter to explore along southern California’s coastline.
Our first stop will be the Leichtag Foundation which is home to Coastal Roots Farm, a nonprofit Jewish community farm and education center. Deeply rooted in tradition, the group cultivates healthy, connected communities by integrating sustainable agriculture, food justice and ancient Jewish wisdom. The farm shares organic produce with those who need it most and introduces people to Jewish ideas and traditions through farming and food.
From there, we’ll journey up to The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch® north of San Diego. While there’s much to learn about their many gardens and planting and growing cycles, the main attraction is the nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers. These gorgeous fields of flowers are in bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year and our group will be lucky enough to experience it!
And, of course, you can’t go on a California adventure without a wine tasting on the itinerary. Fortunately, we plan to sip and swirl some of the best California grapes during a delightful lunch before returning to the conference.
Cost for the tour is $99.
